USB 2.0 is a Universal Serial Bus (USB) standard. Almost all devices with USB capabilities, and nearly all USB cables, support at least USB 2.0.
Devices that adhere to the USB 2.0 standard have the ability to transmit data at a maximum speed of 480 Mbps. This is faster than the older USB 1.1standard and much slower than the newer USB 3.0 standard.

● Is USB 2.0 still good?
USB 2.0 is sufficient for most data transfer tasks and is still likely better at data transfer than through Bluetooth. USB 3.0 is better for portable mass storage devices like back up hard drives.
● Why does USB 2.0 still exist?
USB 2.0 ports are handy for keyboards, mouse controllers, and other non-drive uses. Because these devices do not need the speedy throughput, a keyboard or mouse connected to a USB 3.0 port would be a waste of the resource.
● Will USB 2.0 be phased out?
USB will eventually go the same rout as PS/2, with some computers having them and others not, but it will never become 100% obsolete, however, even this will take a very long time to happen, in the realm of 10-15 years likely. Due to the sheer amount of devices that USB uses, it won't be going obsolete soon.
